Nagiyuhewin, Mary Moore
Nagiyuhewin collected her annunities as a Santee Dakota in Flandreau, Nebraska. She is listed on the 1893 Santee Annuity Payroll # 183, age 59, wife of Mazakahoton John Moore, age 68. She signed her "x" on the 1899 annuity payroll. Her husband John probably died between 1899 and 1900 payments since he is last listed on the 1899 payroll. According to these annuity payrolls, Oliver Moore was her grandson. In 1901 she received her annuity payment, but probably not in person, since it says "paid see receipt". 1905 annuity payroll, grandson Oliver Moore is listed #145, age 27. His son Orville Moore, age 4 "son of Oliver Moore in custody of his divorced mother", other son Gilbert born Nov. 15, 1904, died Nov. 15, 1904. On the 1910 Annuity payroll, Oliver is listed as the first entry on the page, but the preceding page is missing, which would have had her name on it. She had probably migrated back to live with her Dakota relatives in Minnesota by the time she gave the bag to Evangeline Whipple. Bag, "Presented to Mrs. Whipple June 1902, Nagi-Yuha-win, Mrs. Moore"
