Pipe Stem and Bowl

Tomahawk style pipestone pipe bowl (A). Bowl base is carved with diamond and cross-hatch designs. Posterior projection is carved on both sides; right side has decorative border and three leaf clover sprig. Left side has incised border and zigzag design writing, reads: Dic 10/ 1893. Wood stem (B) with cylindrical portion to one side carved with ‘v’ markings and opposite half of stem is spirally carved.

A component of this is considered culturally sensitive and our American Indian advisors asked us not to display it.
